Sweet Gravy

"This is a wonderful treat that we would make the daycare kids on cold mornings! 'Grandma' (an older woman who cooked for us) showed me how to make it. So easy and so yummy!"

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter

DIRECTIONS

  1. Whisk together the sugar and flour in a saucepan. Stir in the egg, then gradually mix in the milk until well blended. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. As soon as it boils and becomes thick, remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla and butter. Spoon over biscuits or toast and enjoy!
