Perfection! I doubled the recipe and used my Kitchen Aid mixer for the kneading. They turned out perfect. My kids are going through them like crazy. I guess I'll be making them again soon!

I should've inventoried my ingredients before I started making these. I ran out of AP flour and used 1/2 cup WW flour and 1/2 cup ground rolled oats instead. It made 12 hamburger size rolls that tasted really good!

I think I did something wrong with these, they barely rose during the second rise, they burned on the bottom and browned nicely on the top and they tasted salty... But I will try them again to see if I can get your results!

Thank you so much for such a versatile recipe!! I sprinkled cheddar cheese and fresh jalapenos over the top and baked for 15 minutes. Amazing!!!!! A big hit with my mexican family. I also made cinnamon rolls by rolling out the dough and spreading butter and cinnamon/sugar. These also came out great! I will definitely keep the dough on hand for even more variations!!

Update: I made these by making them as Red Bean Buns! They are delicious!!! Original review: This was my first time making bread (and using yeast) and these were delicious! I had to make the dough the old fashioned way because I have no bread machine. I used 1/2 cup sugar instead of 1/3 cup. I also reduced to baking temperature to 350 and baked it for about 13 min. I would melt the butter next time. Thanks for this fantastic recipe!!!

Seriously good recipe! I followed the recipe exactly, but seeing as I have no breadmaker I had to do it the old fashioned way, by hand. I got 12 big sized rolls out of it...hamburger bun size. This is my new "go to" recipe for rolls, can't wait to try them as cinnamon pecan buns!

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!!! Follow the recipe exactly and you'll get the best rolls ever. I cooked them in a muffin pan and formed 3balls for a clover shaped roll and baked at 350 for about 15minutes. I can't wait to try these as cinnamon rolls or monkey bread.

This is a great, basic roll recipe. I like that it uses all purpose flour because I can never seem to remember to buy bread flour. It's also nice to not need one more item to take up space in my already small home. I don't use a bread machine when I make this. I set the eggs out for a couple hours to warm. Then I place the warm water, warm milk and sugar in a bowl. Dissolve the sugar and then add the yeast and let it proof. Then I add the eggs, butter, salt and flour. Mix well with my hands and put it in a greased bowl, turning once to coat, then cover with towel and let it rise. After one hour (or after it doubles) I punch it down and roll into three small balls per muffin slot and make cloverleaf rolls. I let them rise another hour and then bake. Yummy and they go really fast around here so I bake a double batch which gives me approx. 48 cloverleaf rolls.

Although, I do not have a bread machine any longer, I decided to make these rolls using the traditional method. I proofed the yeast in the 1/2 cup of warm water with 1 tsp sugar. Heated the milk, added the sugar, butter, salt, removed from heat, and stirred till disolved. Then added the beaten egg once the milk mixture was slightly warm. In a large mixing bowl I combined the yeast, milk mixture and added the flour gradually. Kneaded for about 8 to 10 minutes and let rise for 1 hour in a tea towel covered bowl. Punched down and formed balls for clover leaf rolls. Let rolls rise again for 1 hour. Baked at 375 for 15 minutes and brushed with melted butter. Delicious!!

I made these for the first time today. I thought the recipe (and dough it makes) so SO easy for a first time roll maker. I used the bread machine and followed all the directions exactly. The only slight modification I made was just to put honey butter in place of regular butter. That was just because I was wanting some extra sweetness. The rolls would have been fine without it. Personally the thing I loved about this recipe was that when the dough came out of the machine (after following the recipe exactly) it was extremely easy to work with. Thanks for this recipe...it is a new staple in my house. We live in china and getting rolls is impossible so this recipe helped. I also would like to note I made them in a toaster oven because that is all I have and it still turned out great. I think this is a good fool proof mixture of ingredients!
