I was looking for a meatball recipe and came across this one along with Swedish Meatballs II. After having read all the reviews, I did what alot of other reviewers did and combined the two. I used the sauce from I and made the meatballs from II. I also used 1/2 package of onion soup mix. garlic powder and sour cream in the sauce. I used regular bread crumbs in the meatballs. Served over mashed potatos and all was good. I will be making these again. So comforting and easy. Thanks!

We used lean beef and the sauce was very greasy. The meatballs tasted like meatloaf - not what I hoped for at all. Not a lot of flavour, maybe better for people who like plain food.

Turned out delicious... just what I was looking for, thanks! Made with ground turkey. Next time will also try the lowfat soups so it's not so heavy. I substituted Italian bread crumbs for the cream of wheat. Onion was a little overpowering for my husband, maybe next time I'll use the dried minced or just onion powder. Served over No Yolk egg noodles... yum!!!

Yum! A couple of changes...used Italian bread crumbs instead of Cream of Wheat. Add sour cream, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce to sauce. Sooo good!

These were wonderful! Meatballs are always a favorite in the house and we needed a way to change them from time to time. I do wish I had used more than 1lb of beef, it's not much for a family with 3 growing boys :)

This recipe should be called "boring meatsballs and gravy". It doesn't taste anything like Swedish Meatballs.

This was really good and easy with a few modifications. I can only rate the sauce since I used premade frozen meatballs. I threw the 2 cans of soup and evaporated milk in my small crockpot with about 1 tbsp garlic powder and let it heat until warm. I then poured it over the frozen meatballs in a 9x9 pan and baked at 350 for 30 mins. Before serving, I mixed in 1/4 cup sour cream and served over egg noodles (I also omitted the parsley). I will definitely make it again!

Family loves these I thought the sauce was missing something. I omitted the cream of wheat and used bread crumbs isntead (no cream of wheat on hand) I did enjoy the texture of the meatballs I just felt like the sauce didn't have the depth it needed but not sure what to add to make it better.

I made this for a friend who was visiting. His mom always used to make Swedish Meatballs with mashed potatoes, so I agreed to give it a shot. I used Italian bread crumbs instead of the cream of wheat and I didn't add any onion. I also doubled the recipe, because we were having several other people over. I don't think the recipe doubled well, the sauce was a little too runny and the meatballs took about 10 extra minutes to cook. Despite all that, we still really enjoyed these. They were very tasty and the sauce was yummy. Went well with both mashed potatoes and noodles!

Good, I made a few changes. I only used 1 Can of cream of mush soup (no cream of chix soup), then I added 1 beef boulion cube & about 2 cups of milk. This is how my mother makes it.

We all enjoyed it but we didn't care for the leftovers. I used packaged meatballs which I think ruined it. I will make my own next time.

We love this sauce with the following additions: 1 c sour cream, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1 tsp pepper, 2 Tbsp creamy horseradish sauce, and lots of sliced mushrooms sauteed in butter. I have used the crock pot on low for 4 hours and simply made it on top of the stove. Either way works fine. I tried Marla's meatballs from this site "Sweedish Meatballs II" as suggested by others but found the frozen Swedish meatballs a more reasonable choice for time, energy, and effort.

I'm 33 and this was my first time making meatballs. It turned out well, thanks for tonight's dinner idea. Next time I'll throw celery into the meatball mix. However, I'm looking for a more authentic sauce recipe... any suggestions?

This is a good recipe. I stuck with the original recipe and made no alterations to it. The meatballs could have used some seasoning. but all in all, a very quick and easy meal.

Love this recipe! I am a beginner at cooking and this recipe was easy enough for even me. I made a few modifications to make the recipe lighter... I used 94% fat free cream of mushroom and cream of chicken and I also used half a can on 2% milk instead of evaporated. Will be making this recipe again and again!

Super yummy meatballs (I didn't make the sauce). I didn't have cream of wheat or ground meat so I used ground turkey and bread crumbs. I added 1 tbsp of butter and reduced milk to 2 tbsp because the meat was so lean. Also added about 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp of pepper.
