This is a good basic (and easy!) recipe. I started making it and realized I only had Baking Powder, not Baking Soda, so after a quick search on the internet I substituted 2 tsp. baking powder and reduced the salt by half. Still turned out great. It was a little more dense in texture, more like a banana muffin, but still good. My 8 year old loved it!

Overall good. One more banana probably would have brought out the flavor more. I added chocolate chips and cream cheese icing and had a very satisfying dessert!

Nice and easy. I added a tsp. of baking powder and did half vanilla extract and half maple extract, just for a change. This batter filled four mini bundt pans and one mini loaf pans. Smells divine, too.

Easy and quick recipe and the result was fabulous. 5 stars plus two thumbs up from me! After I gave the recipe to my French friend, she came up with her own version, which was banana chocolate chip cake. It was very delicious!

This was a snap to make and VERY FLAVORFUL! Not dry at ALL! I changed very little about this! YUM-O!! I did use 4 - VERY LARGE bananas. I never use anything but Mexican vanilla, and I tossed in about 3/4 cu. semisweet chocolate chips. That was it! I don't really care for banana bread, but my sweetie does. This cake was great! I served it warm with a scoop of good vanilla ice cream on it, and it was a hit(have to confess that even I liked it..lol) Super good~~~super easy!

Absolute the best; to make it moisturer I added 1/2 cup sour cream along with 1 tsp. baking powder someone else addes. Needs no frosting just spring on power sugar

This is one of the easiest banana cake recipes I've ever found. I have of this in my pantry/frig at all times. I also like to use the Chocolate Frosting I recipe for the topper. It's fudgy, yet not too thick. It really sets off this fabulous cake nicely. Great combination. I also used the extra teaspoon of baking powder. Came out perfectly!

I made only 12 servings and I baked them in two 6 inch pans. I used salted butter, and did not use nuts. It turned out great! Very moist and soft. It was perfect. By far one of my favorite cake recipes ever.

I made this for a pool party but used soft margarine instead of butter and added 1/2 cup chocolate chips. I frosted it with canned cream cheese frosting. Many requests for the recipe! Additional comment -- I've made it again since, and topped it with Chocolate Glaze I -- awesome! It is very quick to throw together, and you don't have to be an expert cake maker. I hate baking, so I was pleased with the easy method.

This turned out fantastic! I iced it with a frosting made by boiling 1/4 cup milk and 1/2 cup butter, then adding one teaspoon vanilla and 5 cups confectioners sugar and pouring it on while the banana cake and icing were still hot. It made it very sweet and cake-like. The consistency of the cake IS bread-like, but I think that it is a selling point of this recipe, not a reason not to do it. I needed something to do with some bananas and this worked extremely well. I have to say I think that 9' by 13' is too big. The batter also scared me. I don't know if I should have had the butter at room temperature or warmer, but my battery was very thick and doughy.

I made this recipe only to use up some ripe bananas I had, and I'm glad I did! Very moist and very similar to banana bread. I did however leave off the frosting. I will DEFINATELY make this recipe again. Thanks!

This was good. I added 1 teaspoon of baking powder at another reviewer's suggestion and it turned out like a dense cake. I suspect I'd have liked it even denser (like banana bread), but I was in the mood for cake. That did the trick. I added a few fun things (almond extract, coconut extract, chocolate chips), but this recipe would stand on its own as is.

This didn't live up to my expectations. Was pretty dry. I made alot of the modifications suggested by others. Used half white and half brown sugar. Added extra tsp of baking soda. Used cake flour. Added 1 1/2 t. cinnamon and 1/2 t. nutmeg. Baked at 350 in a 9" pan for 35 mins. Sprinkled powdered sugar on top. Good flavor, but not moist. Would rather have had regular banana bread . . . regular banana cake. Anything that last 3 1/2 days in my house isn't worthy of being a keeper.

This was an easy recipe to make...whipped it up in less than 5 minutes! It was also very good. I baked mine a tad too long, so it was a bit dry, but that was my fault, not the recipe's. I will make this recipe again for sure.

I also made this in a bundt pan. It is very good, but mine also turned out more like banana bread. I hand mixed it, so next time I'll use the Kitchenaid and maybe add the extra tsp of baking soda. I frosted it with the Creamy Frosting recipe from this site. Got lots of compliments!
