  1. Preheat a waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Whisk milk and egg yolks together in a separate bowl. Beat egg whites in a separate bowl using an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Stir egg yolk mixture into flour mixture just until batter is moistened. Stir butter into batter and fold in egg whites.

Pretty good waffles! They were really fluffy and light, but had a great buttery flavor. I didn't give this 5 stars since I like my waffles a little bit more dense, but I would make these again.

A buttery waffle, not too sweet and just the way my husband likes them.

Yummy! I made these in a Belgian waffle maker and they came out great! Had some leftover strawberries on top and viola breakfast is served.

The waffles came out delicious. I did add Vietnamese cinnamon, vanilla, and almond extract.

This recipe is fabulous. The amount of butter is appropriate. I put in a dash of sugar and vanilla, and I used a Belgian waffle iron. I wouldn't change anything else in this recipe. This made 9 waffles and my kids wouldn't stop saying how awesome they tasted. To make the waffles it is time consuming but really worth it!! Unfortunately they aren't going to want Eggo's anymore.
