SUBMITTED BY:
Karen Ann Bland
"Having lived in the Sunflower State all my life, I've loved using sunflower kernels in a variety of recipes. Here, those crunchy kernels coat a creamy cheese spread. --Karen Ann Bland, Gove, Kansas"

I've had this recipe for YEARS and I found it on the side of a package of toasted sunflower seeds. They called it a Sun Ball. I've been making it for every holiday, ever since. LOVE IT!

I think with some changes this could be very good, but as is I was disappointed. All I could taste was olive, so it was like eating a big mushy olive (and I love olives). If I were going to make it again (a big IF), I would put in one or two cloves of minced garlic instead of the powder, and only use half of the chopped olives. I really wanted to like this, sorry.

I really enjoyed this cheese ball, it is so different from any cheeseball I have ever tried. If you're not big on sunflower kernals, just use chopped pecans or walnuts! Thanks for a great new recipe, it is definately a keeper!
