Hubs knew in advance that this would have, as he refers to it, the "evil" oatmeal in it. He graciously agreed to try it anyway - for me. He liked it! I made a double recipe (winging the amounts of strawberries, strawberry jam and milk) and added a little honey just cuz. He drank that right up, dreaded oatmeal and all. He even admitted that had I not told him about the oatmeal he would have never known.
I tried this recipe twice because I really liked the idea of oats in the smoothie, but it was just too gritty for me. I blended for quite a while the second time to no avail, still gritty.
I used homemade jam and threw in a frozen banana. Kids drank all of this but did not care for the oatmeal in the smoothie.
The hubby an I love this smoothie, however I do not add the smuckers fruit spread to keep the sugar down an we are not fans of super sweet drinks. I also double the amout of yogurt an use a frozen mixed berry blend.
