This worked wonders for my Christmas cookies... I did have to add more milk and syrup, but overall a wonderful recipe. Thanks!

very simple. I didn't measure anything i just added more milk or more sugar so i got the consistency i liked. I mixed it all up and put it in pastry bags for 2 seven years olds and 3 year old to decorate cookies. They had a lot of fun and it was easy.

I, personally, am not into cookies with frosting/icing, but my husband is. So last night I made him some sugar cookies with this icing (I don't like sugar cookies, either!). He liked the results. I feel like I need to work with this a bit to find a consistency that I like. I haven't yet tried one of the cookies, but later I will, and I'm sure I'll use this recipe again. Thanks!

This icing is incredible. It's my go-to recipe for my sugar cookies and is now considered one of my "secret recipes" that my family assumes only I can make. If you have a consistency problem try adding a little more corn syrup and milk.

Delicious!! I had to add more milk, but as blueprints go, this could not be any better. I used the food processor to get rid of all the hard bits in the confectioner's sugar, then added the liquids. I separated some parts with green, pink and left some plain white. Left to dry on cool cookies for 20 minutes then froze for 20 minutes and placed into air tight container. The kids had so much fun with this recipe and I used honey instead of corn syrup.

Very easy to make and spread and the almond taste is nice. Not sure how you could follow the original recipe and make it spreadable. I added more milk instead of more corn syrup. I make the Best Rolled Sugar Cookies recipe on this site and needed a quadruple recipe of icing.

This icing was the perfect sweetness for the sugar cookies I made. It dried quickly and looked pretty. I did have to use a lot more milk than the recipe calls for. I continued to put in teaspoons until it was the right consistancy. Don't try to make it without a mixer!

Yummy! Added a drop of peppermint extract because I was out of almond - which added just a hint of flavor.

This was absolutely perfect! I love the almond flavor in this icing! I made this recipe as written except I didn't use the corn syrup but it still worked perfectly! This was my first time making and using icing but it won't be my last! :)

EXCELLENT recipe! Unusual for me to tweak to such an extent BUT I make mine as per another reviewer with 1 c powdered sugar, 4 t milk, 1 t extract, 1 T corn syrup. I found out that if you substitute 4 t heavy cream instead of milk, you get the PERFECT consistency for bordering/lettering - it's stiff enough to hold it's shape but not difficult in any way to work with & will squeeze through a # 2 icing tip with the greatest of ease! Use milk if you are making flood icing and keep adding milk by 1/2 teaspoonful increments until you achieve the consistency you want. This is the ONLY recipe I use to decorate my cookies - it is AWESOME!!! (Check out my photos of the cookies I have decorated using this tweaked recipe!)

Like some of the other reciews I had to play with the milk and corn syrup amounts but it was worth it. This was the best cookie icing I've ever used. Note: I tripled this for a double batch of sugar cookies and had just enough, I kept some white and split some into 4 different bowls and colored the icing

This receipe has to be played around with to get the right consistency that you want depending on the decorating that you are wanting to do, but the flavor is very good.

Wonderful recipe that will become a staple in our home. If you're not that fond of almond flavoring, don't add it or reduce the amount. I feel it complimented the baked cookie recipe I used. I added extra milk, about a tsp. at a time as well as a little bit more corn syrup. until it was the a good consistency, enough to spoon and paint onto the cookies. my kids had a great time with it, we added jelly beans, sprinkles and colored granulated sugar as well as mini m&m's to the cookies. we also used food coloring markers to paint them as well.

I was looking for a recipe that I could tweak and it still be delicious. I have children with 8 food allergies and even after replacing all the dairy ingredients with water, it still turned out great. I have gotten rave reviews. I even mastered a recipe for sugar cookies that are safe for my children. Just made 6 dozen last night and will be making more this week for the holidays.

added a lot more milk and vanilla to thin out to consistency I was looking for, adding corn syrup didn't work.
