I found this frosting to be incredibly greasy, the texture was very strange. I don't think the shortening worked out very well.. if I tried this recipe again, I would use butter instead.

Very good frosting! I use butter instead though because I don't like using shortening, and it turns out really good:)

The consistency of this frosting is great and I would recommend it for kids to decorate with. If you want to eat the frosting however, this is not the recipe to use the shortening has a tendency to coat your mouth despite being mixed well with the confectioners sugar. Don't expect mixing a ton of confectioners sugar with a small amount of other basic, flavorless ingredients to make a delicious frosting.

easy to make and frost! Hardens nicely and takes food coloring well! It's easy to make it taste too much like powdered sugar, so make sure you put enough milk and vanilla in (I had to add an extra tablespoon or so of milk)

BEST. I've been baking for a while now but I could never find a recipe that worked well for me. They either had an awful taste or some other flaw, but not this one. It's extremely easy to make and bomb to eat. (dad says it's too sweet) I love this, not only will I bookmark this recipe but I'll actually take the time to write it down. After so many failed attempts at frosting I tasted it with caution, I licked the spoon clean :D You MUST try this. Note: although I'm usually quite meticulous when it comes to measuring, I was with this and it turned out lovely.

I love this frosting; thanks so much for sharing it. I used butter b/c I like the flavor better but otherwise used it as is with "The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies" from this site. They were a wonderful match. It has just the right amount of sweetness.
