This recipe is wonderful. For a different flavor profile, I use dirty rice (zatarans), and I top it with beef gravy. You can also add red beans.

My boyfriend said these were very good. I blanched the peppers (per another reviewers recommendation). I didn't have long grain rice, so I substituted traditional white rice. I added a diced onion to the ground beef. For the tomato topping I used one can of tomato sauce, added a splash of lemon juice and Worcestershire and red wine, and then Italian seasonings. Topped with Parmesan cheese. I would make again.

I never brown my meat- do it all in the oven. Mix ground turkey, chop pepers, onion, a fresh tomato, spinach and quinoa and brown rice. Season to taste and sprinkle a little olive oil. Cut tops and bottoms or multi colored peppers and bake in ductch oven at 400 degress for an hour with a little beef broth in bottom of pan. Out of this world good.

Because I dislike it when someone alters a recipe then rates it, I made this recipe exactly as directed. It was great! Even my kids enjoyed it. Next time I will make more sauce for the topping, but other than that, it was great as is.

my husband is on a low carb diet so instead of rice. I took cauliflour and chopped it with my small kitchen chopper and added cheese. He loved it!

I love this recipe! The only thing I do differently is add a little bit more tomato sauce. It's delicious and fairly healthy.

Delicious! I used shredded mozzarella on top and added mushrooms to my mix. I'll definitely make this again.

It tasted like tomato sauce on some beef. Don't waste your time or resources. Find something else.

Halved the recipe. Blanched the peppers, browned the hamburger and cooked the rice ahead of time. Folded Thai basil and parmesan cheese into the filling which added a lot more depth of flavor. Also did not do any basting and cooked for only 20 minutes. Very good though definitely deviated from the original recipe.

From the first reading of this recipe I could see it would be lacking flavor, powder anything over fresh never makes sense to me, So first I went with fresh garlic and diced onion, added 1TBS fresh basil and parsley, some chopped chinese chili peppers, drizzled with olive oil and baked, much better.
