This is fantastic! I used the recipe with 2 minor adjustments: I didn't have celery, so I ommitted it, and I had canned small diced tomatoes in the 28 oz. size that I added instead of tomato sauce. Like other reviewers, I browned the ground beef before adding it to the rice and added about 1/2 c. of the juice from the tomatoes to the stuffing. I put a spoonful of diced tomatoes on top of each pepper and the rest in the pan surrounding the peppers. If you enjoy cheese, another option is to melt cheese over the top--fantastic (I used mozzarella).

I really enjoyed this recipes. It was easy and very tasty. I cooked my beef and doubled the sauce and mixed the sauce with the beef mixture and it was perfect!

I've made this twice now and enjoyed it both times. The only tricky part is getting the peppers to stand upright in the tomato stew stuff. Also, in addition to adding basil to the stuffing mix, I added some feta cheese.

Yum!.. I changed it up a little with cooked diced stew beef; I also added garlic, parsley, cilantro, cayenne pepper for heat and a dash of olive oil to make the flavors more Greek style (omitted basil) which my family likes. I added cheese to the top after the were done baking for a few more minutes.

This is a great recipe for someone who knows what else to toss in to make it yummy! I am still learning and trying new things. This recipe is so bland, I won't be making this one again!
