I served this at a small dinner party and everyone really liked it - all dishes were empty! As suggested by other reviewers, I used real whipped cream and about twice the amount of coffee. I used 1 package of lady fingers (3 oz) and thought it was fine. I also used raspberries instead of strawberries since the raspberries are so wonderful right now. I'll make this one again.

I made this for a pot luck and received lots of compliments. It did go over well, and I had no leftovers (this recipe serves 10 people with modest serving sizes). As far as preparing the dessert, I bought 5 oz. packages of lady fingers. I used one whole package plus two lady fingers out of the 3rd package. My trifle bowl seems of average size, so I don't know how you'd get away with 3 oz. of lady fingers? Instead of cool whip, I used real whipped topping made with heavy cream (can find in a can in the fridge section - some is low fat, I went all out and got the heavy cream stuff.) I made no other changes. It was good and is sure to please, but I didn't think it was one of the best desserts I've ever had.

Excellent. This is the perfect light summer dessert. I make it for all summer get togethers now and there are never leftovers. My guests give it rave reviews.

I made this last night for my mom's birthday and everybody LOVED it!!! I changed a few things though. I made homemade whipped cream (I like it better than the whipped topping), I added blueberries (just because I had them), when I sliced the strawberries, I sprinkled some sugar over them to add just a bit of sweetness. The last thing that I added was Gran Marnier! I put 1 Tbsp in the cream cheese with the coffee and then added 2 Tbsp to the coffee that goes on the ladyfingers! Oh, I also used (3 squares of) semisweet chocolate b/c that was all I could find. I will DEFINITELY be making this one again!!!

If there was anything that could be mnessed up in this recipe, I did it. However, it still turned out pretty delicious. It was even better after sitting in the fridge over night, in my opinion. Not as easy to make as I anticipated, but good.

Overall, pretty good. Needs a little bit of tweeking though: more ladyfingers and less cream would have made it much better. Also, adding more coffee (or kaluha) would have helped.

I couldnt get my whip topping to whip! It was pudding-like instead of fluffy. Even though it didn't look like the picture, it tasted great, and for once, all my guests ate every last bite!!!!

This was such a hit at my Italian themed Christmas this year. A great reason to go out and buy yourself a trifle bowl if you don't already have one. This would also make a wonderful housewarming gift!

I saw this recipe and decided to try it for a big New Years Eve party. The entire thing was gone within an hour and I got more compliments on it. I only changed one thing. I used the larger size pudding b/c that's all I had. So that meant 3 cups of milk instead of 2. Everything else was the same and it was delicious!
