I love this salad. I made it just as the recipe said and it is great i may try some of the suggestions made to vary it a little. I had a BBQ and people could not get enough of it. I would higly recommend this one! Thanks for the recipe!

Easy, delicious and I understand the high review marks. I did what everybody else suggested and added some iceberg, part of a roasted Costco chicken that I cut into pieces, and didn't use all the dressing. Plus, I added the Feta cheese like other people had suggested. It's a Yummmmmmmmmmm recipe!

I made this salad for a big dinner, and it was gone after a few minutes! I added mandarin oranges and red onion, and used pecans instead of almonds. I also didn't have any poppy seeds, so I left them out. The dressing was good, but I wasn't a big fan of all those sesame seeds, next time I'd leave them out.

Made this for a picnic lunch on a date. I used half the olive oil, left out the sugar and substituted raspberry vinaigrette for the vinegar. The dressing recipe makes A LOT of dressing... I was eating it for days after!

I used splenda instead of sugar and it was fantastic. My 17 year old cousin who doesn't touch anything green went back for seconds!

My father has had a hate on for spinach since 1941 but he'll ask for seconds (and sometimes thirds) of this lovely salad. Like many reviewers I made it exactly as directed the first time and it was wonderful. These days I do tend to cut back heavily on the sugar, especially since I use a fairly sweet balsamic vinegar in place of the white vinegar. One of the best things about this recipe is that despite being excellent as-is, it lends itself very well to experimentation. Don't have strawberries? Use raspberries instead. Allergic to nuts? Use water chestnuts for a little crunchy texture. Whatever you decide to add into this salad, you're almost certain to like the results.

This is my favorite salad. I like it the way it is. I also like it with candied pecans and sprinkled with blue cheese crumbles. My kids even like it! The dressing is good with green onions also.

This dressing is so great with this salad that has very simple ingredients! My guests and I loved this as written but next time I will probably toast the almonds. I made the dressing a day ahead of the party so come party day putting this together was a snap! I have so much dressing left over, even after doubling the strawberry/spinach/almond mixture- but it will soon be gone as this is going to be one of my new staple salad dressings to keep around all the time! This is nothing like a salad dressing that can be purchased at the store, the flavor is light and so tasty with high quality ingredients! I wash store bought salad dressing jars to reuse for homemade dressing storage. I have been experimenting with a poppy seed/onion dressing recipe that is similar but now my experiments have ended. This one wins! Thanks!!!

This recipe is awesome. If you heat the dressing the sugar dissolves wonderfully. I also added fresh blueberries and cucumbers with thin sliced red onion. YUMMY. I left the seeds out because I didn't have them...it is the best salad I have ever ate.

Great recipe! To save a little money, skip the sesame seeds (and toast the almonds for a more nutty taste). YUM.

I made this for a family reunion of 35 people!! I debated if it was a good idea because of trying to mix the dressing with the salad and not get it too soggy, so I halved the recipe & just waited until the first bowl was gone & whipped another one right up. They loved it so much that they requested it again for the next night! I don't use all the dressing it calls for - I think it definitely would make it too soggy, so I just eyeball it (and keep the rest for leftovers) Also, use glazed walnuts - they are delicious with this salad!!!

I am real impressed with this recipe! My family a salad to them must be a lettuce/chef type salad with ONLY the following dressings: Ranch, French, or Honey Mustard. I enjoy trying different salads and dressings, and when I seen this, I knew it would be great. Only alteration I did was cut the sugar down to 1/4 cup because my strawberries were quite sweet, and let each person add the chilled dressing to the chilled salad. The recipe says the dressing is for 4 servings, but a little of the dressing goes a long way. With strawberry/spinach season upon us, I know we will be fixing this again. *UPDATE* We made this again last night. I had a few overly riped strawberries, so I pureed them in the blender and added to the dressing. This was very good as well!

This salad is very good as written, but as others have noted it is way too sweet. I made it again and cut the sugar in half, added a cup of crumbled feta cheese, and it was to die for! Five stars and highly recommended, just watch the sugar.
