I have made this salad several times over the past 5 years, and it is absolutely my favorite salad. Lately, Ive been trying to make healthier food choices, and I made the salad tonight substituting agave syrup for white sugar - I couldn't tell the difference, it was as fabulous as ever!

Pretty good, although even with only half the amount of sugar my family found the dressing a little too sweet. Toast the almonds for extra flavour. Thanks!

def half the olive oil and use high quality olive oil. added some water and def sub in balsamic vinegar for the reg distilled vinegar. added blueberries and blackberries for a great, healthy salad. took the suggestion of toasting the sesame and poppy seeds. did the same for the almonds, rather than blanching them.

Now this is a salad. I make the dressing the day before, and put in on right before I am about to serve it. Great for banquets (or food competitions at work; Believe me, you will win!) Just follow the recipe exactly, or toast the almonds before tossing them in for added flavor. Believe me, you will be asked for this recipe as soon as they take a bite! 5 stars.

This was a pretty good salad. I used it for Thanksgiving and got good reviews. It's better to wait until just before serving to put the dressing though, or it will wilt big-time. Also, once the dressing is on, you may want to add a little more spinach as the dressing weighs it down. Other than that, the strawberries and slivered almonds were a hit! Thanks.

This is a very good salad, and a great quick fix to make for get togethers. If you don't let the dressing chill, the sugar won't dissolve and it won't taste as good. I make the recipe as written, and use Butter Toffee Almond accents instead of slivered almonds.

This was a really easy recipe. The dressing was great (although a bit pricey with all the seeds). Strawberries were a really nice touch, as were the almonds. However this was ALOT of sugar, cutting down on that doesn't cut any of the taste.

The only change I made was in cutting the olive oil in half and adding water and a little extra vinegar in it's place. Excellent salad.

Again - use no more than half the sugar (I would use even less), and substitue the vinegar for balsamic. Turns out great (and the dressing tastes really nice even with just plain lettuce)

Great recipe!!! Every time I make this salad, people always ask for the recipe. I once saw someone at my party, licking up the left over dressing from their plate...

I loved this recipe! In fact, it's one of my favorites on this site. I cut down the sugar, used balsamic vinegar, red onion, and feta cheese just like recommended. It was wonderful! I also added in some blueberries and called the salad, "Life Longevity On a Plate." Very healthful, and full of antioxidants!

Excellent recipe! I've served this to many people and they all ask for the recipe; even those who typically like spinach. Didn't change a thing and it turns out perfect.

The Best! I used Balsamic instead of white vinegar, halved the sugar and added blue cheese. This recipe is for keeps. Thanks a lot!
