Way too much mushy canned tomato taste & texture (& I used a good quality Muir Glen Organic Fire-Roasted Diced Tomato!). Better w/ cubed fresh tomatoes. I made it as written, and didn't like the flavor & texture, so I made some changes. I kept tasting it with every change I made. First, if u cut recipe in half, you'll still have a large result: 2 cups salsa!! I halved it & made these changes, tho' incrementally, so I could stop when it tasted better : Add at least 33% to 100% more strawbs. Add 1/2 teasp. salt. Add 1 teasp. sugar ( unless your strawberries are naturally sweet!). Add 1 more minced jalapeno, maybe 1 teasp. more lime juice; optionally add cilantro if, after you've let salsa meld flavors for awhile & tasted it, you still want more flavor. Keep garlic to a minimum, using a small med. clove, as it's flavor can dominate, overpowering strawberries' delicate taste. *** Important to refrigerate the recommended time, or you'll only taste the canned tomato, garlic & onion! ***
