Half of this pie 's strawberries are arranged in a baked pastry shell, and the other half are crushed and cooked up with sugar, water and cornstarch until thick and bubbly. This lovely glaze is then poured over the whole berries in the pastry shell. Chill this pie for several hours and serve it with mounds of whipped cream.

In a simple crust made of confectioners' sugar, flour and butter is piled a hearty mound of whole strawberries that glistens from a sweet syrup spooned over the top. Then dollop with whipped cream, and that's all there is to this wonderfully simple sweet pie.

Fresh berries are combined with flour, sugar and cinnamon, piled into a prepared crust, and dotted with butter. Then on goes the top crust, and the pie is slipped into a hot oven until the filling bubbles and the crust turns a golden brown.

This pie is my specialty. It's fairly simple to make but so dramatic to serve. The ultimate taste of spring, this luscious pie has such a big, fresh berry taste I've had many request to bring it to gatherings. --Janet Mooberry, Peoria, Illinois

Even without the strawberry glaze, this pie would be wonderful. But do you think you can resist how the luscious glaze coats each berry so that each bite is a sweet burst of strawberry? Serve with vanilla ice cream or unsweetened whipped cream.
