I ground the oatmeal first. Agree that oatmeal could be cut back a little.

I have to go against popular opinion and say I did not like this smoothie and neither did my children. I found the oatmeal taste overwhelming, the texture too grainy/powdery and it was too thick for my liking.

I loved this smoothie! I was looking for something that would be quick and healthy for breakfast and to fill up my pregnant belly without overloading on calories. This was perfect. I used a frozen banana and 6 huge strawberries rather than what the recipe called for, and used a whole tsp of vanilla rather than half. Perfect!

Great! My mom and I are allergic to bananas, so I substituted kiwi for it, and added a little extra sugar. My mom thought it was too bitter (she really does not drink smoothies), but liked it ok with yet more sugar added. My dad and I (big smoothie drinkers) thought it was great. Just don't add too much oatmeal! It tastes really funny when you do.

This is great! I only added 1/3 cup oats-I think it would be too thick with 1/2 cup, and used skim milk rather than soy, but it was still delish!

I loved this recipe. I used more outmeal than it called for and ground it to a powder before adding the milk. I also used a frozen banana and it was amazing! My picky elderly father loved it and asked for 2nd's and 3rd's.

Very Good. I use it often. I really like the oatmeal in it because it adds fiber to the drink.

My husband thought this was perfect. Other smoothies were not filling enough for him for breakfast and he would be hungry still. But he found this one to be filling enough to hold him over until lunch. It was also the right amount of sweetness. Next time I will try with 1/2 c. fat free yogurt and 1/2c. milk to cut back on calories.

This shake is really tasty! I used regular milk instead of soy. I didn't have any bananas on hand so I added a dash of banana extract for taste. I used frozen strawberries with added sugar and the result was excellent! The oatmeal was really filling. I will be making this a breakfast regular!

This was nice for a breakfast change. I blended the oatmeal first so it would be more of a powdered texture and less obvious.

This recipe received many raves when I took it to a breakfast meeting. My kids loved it too. Didn't have soy milk so I used regular milk. I only used 1/4 cup oatmeal, but a full tsp. of vanilla. Other than that followed the recipe. Very tasty.

This recipe did not turn out well for me at all. I found it way too thick and I the overall flavor was not my thing. I did like the flavor and texture that the oatmeal brought to the smoothie and I will try incorporating it into other smoothie recipes I like.

Tastes great, very filling! I added 2 tsp. of sugar. Next time I will decrease the oats to just under a 1/2 cup & add a splash of O.J. for a more dimensional flavor. I have found that adding a Coffee Mate French vanilla (in liquid form) tastes great in smoothies too.
