Definatley need to grind the oatmeal in the blender first. But this smoothie is great tasting & good for you.

I've always loved the idea of a smoothie for breakfast but have never been able to find one that I liked - always too sweet, too bland, weird texture. Wasn't sure about the addition of oatmeal, but it was great, nice texture, right amount of sweetness. I used regular milk because I can't tolerate soy, and powdered the oatmeal. I have this so often now, that I powder a few cups of oatmeal at a time so that it's ready anytime I want a scoop.

I would give this a 4.5 but can't. I added 1tsp of vanilla by accident but was still very good. I put the oats first and gave them a whirl just to make them more like powder. Next time I might add less strawberry cause I like more a banana taste then strawberries, but otherwise very yummy and both my girls love it too(20months and 4). Thanks for sharing.

Loved it! I really liked the taste and texture the oats gave it. The only change I made was to omit the sugar completely, as I don't like my smoothies really sweet. Thank you, I'll be making this often!

Officially addicted to this!!! The only things I do different: I use honey instead of sugar and regular milk instead of soy (don't usually have soy). I did try it with pineapple juice once and did not care for it at all. Personally, I think it needs the creaminess of the milk/soy. Although doing half frozen strawberry and half frozen pineapple is divine!!! It gives it sort of a tropical flavor. I LOVE it this way! I could drink this every day!

I used fortified light vanilla soy milk and eliminated the sugar and vanilla and it was delicious! I also ground the oats first before adding the other ingredients and blending.

This recipe is Fantastic!!! I make smoothies almost every day and I would have never imagined adding oatmeal on it. The oatmeal gives a great texture.

Delicious and easy. I used milk and did not add the optional vanilla and sugar (it was sweet enough without). I used a hand blender in a large measuring cup, so clean up was a snap. This kept me going all morning.

This was an excellent recipe, a good combination of ingredients. I would recommend adding a 1/2 cup of frozen spinach or 1 big handful of fresh to give it a major power boost. YUMMY!

perfect for breakfast or light dinner! Instead of the soy milk & vanilla, I used 1 cup vanilla flavored non-fat yogurt; it still came out perfectly. Even my husband (a junk-food junkie) loved this.

Don't leave out the sugar entirely, otherwise the oat taste pops out. As suggested I also powdered the oatmeal some before putting the rest of the ingredients in. I also added a few cubes of ice, it was still thick enough for me. Great that I can have this for breakfast and still feel i'm getting nutrition/fiber not just having fun :) plus just fruit is never filling.

So thick, I almost couldn't swallow it down and the oatmeal had an overwhelming raw taste along with the texture of swallowing little pieces of paper. The actual 'taste' wasn't horrible that is why I gave it 2 stars however, the texture leaves A LOT to be desired.

I used frozen mixed berries, of blueberry, raspberry, and lingonberry. It's just what I had on hand in the freezer. I plan to make this again, but next time I will put it through a sieve to get all those little seeds out! But the taste was great, and it had a nice consistency. My hubby and I are always trying to get more oatmeal in our diet, so this was a perfect cold drink for us!

This was really good, except I used regular milk instead of soy milk and blueberries instead of strawberries, since that's what I had. Flavors nice, but the blueberry skins wouldn't grind up. I also added a shot of orange juice, which added a little sourness to the sweetness of the banana and blueberries.
