I thought these were very good and my picky son LOVED them. I used whole wheat pastry flour, and next time I will replace the oil with applesauce. I doubled the recipe and added about a 1/4 cup brown sugar as well as about 1 1/2tsp vanilla. These were sweet, but not overly sweet and a great way to use up the giant container of strawberries I had in my fridge!

I made these muffins on a lazy summer day. They were delicious! Surprisingly they weren't as sweet as I thought they would be, but the strawberries were an addition as good as sugar. They disappeared the day I made them!

I should have listen to the reviews on this site. As is, this recipe is kind of bland. It really does need something else.

So Yummy! I've never made strawberry muffins before! I took the advice of others and added some vanilla and 1/2 c more strawberries and they turned out great! Soft and moist and full of flavor! I dusted the tops with cinnamon and sugar before baking and it made an excellent crust on top! I definetly will be making these again! I'm going to use these for my VBS kids tomorrow, so we'll see what they think! I made mini-muffins for them! Definetly a 5 star muffin!

These were okay. Like others said, there wasn't much flavor. I added 1/4 cup brown sugar and some vanilla. I think next time I might mix in some fresh pineapple to make the flavor a little more pop.

I followed this recipe exactly as written, and white they weren't terrible, they were definitely lacking flavor. Next time I'll follow the other reviewers suggestions of adding vanilla.

These are great! Very moist and tart. I sprinkled a bit of crystal sugar on top and they turned out beautiful. I added a little vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg too.

Based on earlier reviews, I doubled the recipe (It easily made 24 that way.) and added 1 teaspoon vanilla and an extra cup of strawberries. (That would be 1/2 tsp vanilla and a total 1 1/2 cups strawberries for the recipe as-is.) It was a hit! My kids loved them, and my husband and I enjoyed them with coffee. I think the extra strawberries made a difference, plus they were really ripe and sweet. Remember, they are muffins, not cupcakes. But still, they are very yummy!

Awesome! Of course I'm partial to anything strawberry. I took the advice of other reviews and added 1 teas. vanilla and 1/2 teas. cinnamon. I also made the strawberry butter mentioned in the reviews to go on the muffins. I loved it! I'm always looking for new ways to use up the strawberries from my garden and I will definately keep this recipe in mix for th future.

five stars for easiness but 2 for taste. i expect muffins to be fluffy and these were as hard as bricks! once cooked the strawberries lost all color and made the muffins mushy and unappeitzing. it was also not sweet at all, it just tasted like tough bread.

It smelled and tasted pretty good, but the overall texture of the muffins were kinda mushy from the strawberries. Do add the vanilla & cinnamon as recommended by other reviewers.

Very good muffins, and so easy to make. But I will definately be adding more sugar next time, and perhaps some other spices to boost the flavor a bit. They are a bit too bland as is. But still, VERY good! Thanks!

good muffin recipe, although i took some advice from other reviewers and subtracted 1/4 c. flour, added 1/4 c. sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla and some cinnamon. they were perfect and fluffy. i'm still not sure how i feel about strawberries in muffins though so next time i might try it with blueberries or peaches instead.

I like these a lot. They are light, not too sweet and fabulous right out of the oven. I made 12 instead of 8 and cooked them for 6 or 7 minutes longer than indicated. I also sprinkled a smidge of granulated sugar on top. A huge hit! (And a great way to use up last year's frozen berries!) ETA: I used a little more milk that the recipe called for too, adding it until the consistency looked right and the flower was all mixed in.

I made this recipe vegan (and thus changed it A LOT). The muffins were perfect!!! To make vegan: 1/2 cup SOYMILK + 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar instead of milk, 1/4 cup SOY YOGURT instead of 1 egg, 1.5 cups CAKE FLOUR instead of 1.75 cups regular flour. Also, I added 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/8 teaspoon allspice, and greased the pan with cooking spray instead of paper liners. Bake for 20 minutes.
