Ohmigosh!! This was fabulous!! I had 36 oz. of strawberries going ripe very quickly and didn't want to make anything fancy, so I check A.R. and found this simple recipe. I doubled the recipe, getting four loaves worth. The only adaptions I made were to subtract 1 c. white flour and use 1 c. whole wheat flour, giving it a more healthful twist. And...I didn't feel like cutting up the strawberries, so I threw them in the blender and made a puree, using that instead of chunks. The bread turned out light and fluffy and just delightful to snack on. The recipe was a HUGE hit!!

This is a very good recipe. I followed others' reviews and substituted 1 c. unsweetened applesauce instead of 1 c. oil (using 1/4 c. oil). I used probably 3-4 cups diced strawberries and put about 1/4 c. sugar on them while preparing the other ingredients. I reduced the sugar by about 1/3 c. I also added vanilla and just a few dashes of cinnamon. My big twist was adding milk chocolate chips to the recipe (about 3/4 bag). I love chocolate covered strawberries and though that the chocolate would make for a decadent bread - and I was right! I also baked for about 50 minutes in a bundt pan. Will definitely make again!

This bread is fabulous. Surprisingly, even with 2 cups of sugar it isn't too sweet. I made it exactly according to the recipe and I'll make it again and again! Awesome!

Very yummy bread! I used a small tub of drained frozen strawberries that I pureed for more flavor. Since the frozen berries added moisture I used 3-1/4 cup of flour. And I cut the sugar down to 1 cup since the frozen berries were sweetened. And used 1/2 T cinnamon. It is very tasty and moist. Will be taking some to work.

MmmmMmmmm. I just made these tonight with the following changes: used 1 cup applesauce and 1/4 oil as well as 4 cups of diced strawberries. I followed everything else as per the original recipes. I made one loaf and a tray of muffins. Simply delicious...will certainly make these again.

Sorry, I just didn't find this special. I even used 4 cups strawberries and toasted the pecans and added a glaze. It wasn't bad, but I won't be making it again.

I have made this recipe before, my family & I really liked it. I wanted to make it again, this time I use whole wheat, I used 3/4c. each brown sugar & organic raw sugar, I used 3/4 c. applesauce w/1/4c. oil. I warmed up the strawberrys just alittle with 1/2 t. extra cinnamon, then set aside to cool. I put about 1/2 c. chopped pecans in 1 of the 9x5 pans. The other 9x5 left pecans out. I have a mimi muffin pan (12count) so any time I make bread I always use some of the batter to make muffins, they cook in about 20 mins. The muffins & the loaves turned out great! I have learned that strawberry breads are a milder flavor than, bluberry, raspberry & banana breads, but still very good. The pan w/ the pecans in it cooked alot faster, by almost 10 mins. I am learning to cook alittle healthier, some adjustments turn out good, some not. This is a good recipe. Thanks so much for posting it!

Flavor and texture were great. I did double the strawberries as others had done and I omitted the cinnamon and used 1 tsp vanilla instead. Also, omitted pecans (kids can't bring any food with nuts in it to school). I think the pecans would have made it superb! Also, I had to bake longer though (about 55 min). This is a great to way use up excess strawberries! Thanks for the recipe!

This is really good. I followed the instructions exactly and it came out great. I did have to bake it about 15-20 minutes longer in the loaf pan.

I followed the advice of other users and added strawberry puree. It still wasn't a really strong strawberry flavor. My kids weren't big fans, and they LOVE strawberries.

This is great. I have a really good banana bread that I usually make, but now my hubby likes this better. I've already made it twice this week. I did make a few changes as per other reviews. I substituted half of the oil with unsweetened applesauce one time and all of the oil with applesauce another time. Equally as good. I also cut down the sugar to 1 1/2 cups and increased the strawberries and diced them. I sprinkled brown sugar and oats on top before baking for presentation. Next time I might try a streusel topping. I'll be making this again and again. Thanks for the recipe!

I used the tips from other cooks and lessened the oil to 3/4c, 1/2 tbsn cinnamon and used thicker slices of strawberries. I don't recommend the thicker slices as I found that they settled somewhat and made a layer that kinda split the bread in half when I tried to remove it from the pan. Diced strawberries would probably be the best way to go. Even though my loaves were split with strawberries, this recipe is yummy! Mix some cream cheese with marshmallow cream and you have a truly yummy spread to match this bread (on a more dessert level). =) So yummy!!!!

Very moist and I like the pockets of strawberries - next time i'll try pureeing half of them. Also added a couple sprinkles of cloves - very good. Nice to have a recipe for those wilted strawberries!
