Absolutely loved this! I did 2 things differently- subbed store-bought (Bake sale ;) pound cake for the angel food, and I also layered cheese cake flavored instant pudding in with the jello-cool whip. This is so easy and looks and tastes like you really fussed.

I would say I didn't care for this dish. Created a weird taste/texture combination. I should have cut all the 'crust' off the cake it may have helped. Got so-so comments at the event I made it for. Would not make again.

I make this without the bananas, and combine the strawberries in with the boiling water and then pour it all over top of the angel food cake. Good use of frozen strawberries!

The combination of gelatin and angel food cake created an odd texture. I would have preferred just the angel food cake, fruit and the whipped topping.
