I left out the onion (which my son doesn't like) and the parmesan (which I didn't have) and my husband and I thought this was pretty good. My son wasn't so sure. I'd make it again, though.

This is a teriffic recipe! I DO NOT like asparagus, I have never ever eaten it before today. I was out of olive oil and I didn't have a lemon, so I used vegetable oil and a zesty lemon seasoning and it was still really great. Thanks for opening my eyes to this wonderful vegetable.

This is excellent. I love that I finally have a great recipe for asparagus that doesn't involve a heavy cream or cheese sauce! Thanks so much for sharing!

Excellent side dish! Try it! Hubby doesn't generally give a side dish a five, but he said this was definitely a FIVE! I didn't have lemon peel, so I used one shake of lemon pepper (I don't like pepper). It added just the right punch. Even my 3 and 5 year old boys ate the tips of the asparagus and said it was good.... It's a keeper! Yum!

Nice flavor with a hint of fresh lemon. I think the almonds got "lost" so I don't know if I will bother adding next time. Hubby who isn't an asparagus lover, did like it this way. Not very pretty after adding soy sauce, but tasty enough to make again.

This was pretty good! A nice healthy change from boring old steamed asparagus. Next time I'll add more soy sauce and more garlic. I didn't have almonds, maybe that would have given it the 5 star "it" factor I was looking for.

The other reviewers are right. The combination of ingredients seems strange but it is oh so tasty! The lemon juice is just the right balance for the soy sauce. I used tamari instead of soy sauce and also added some tofu that I pre-fried, some garlic and some green beans I had just picked from the garden. My 1-year-old even liked it. I'll be making this again and again.

Oh was this good! The combination of ingredients was a little unusual (soy sauce and Parmesan cheese?) but wow, did it all come together! This is so tasty I'll bet those who love asparagus never had it THIS good, and those who don't like asparagus will change their minds! Thanks for posting the recipe Marie!
