This is sooooo yummy! My only question is: can I double the batch to make a bigger loaf? I know my breadmachine pan can handle it, but will it change the consistency or anything? Any help is appreciated!

This was my first foray into using a bread machine that I got with no directions. I put it in as a 1.5, and the bread came out perfectly, albeit slightly dark-crusted. I am going to try it again right now, and see if there is a different setting for lighter crust. It wasn't at all goopy as previously described. In fact, the bread had a perfect density. I will be adding more honey, cocoa and coffee this time around, as I would prefer a sweeter, more flavorful loaf. :)

This recipe was the bomb!!! So delicious! My kids said it wasn't exactly like the steakhouse bread, it was better! I used my machine to make the dough, then I made mini-loaves in my PC mini-loaf pan. I had to wait for about 1 1/2 hours for the loaves to rise (colder environment, maybe.) Then I baked them at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Making them again tomorrow! Trying rolls this time. Thanks for the recipe!

This was great! I too used brewed coffee for the H2O and ground coffee granules and it turned out wonderful! Can't wait to make it again!

I have a Zojirushi 2 lb loaf bread machine. I adjusted this recipe as follows: 1 1/4 cup water,1 1/2 tbls. butter/marg, 3/4 tsp salt, 2 cups bread flour, 1 1/4 cups whole wheat bran flour, 2 tsp. Red Star Active Dry Yeast. I eliminated the sugar, and left the honey, coffee and cocoa powder the same as original recipe. I also added 1 tsp. gluten flour. The bread came out perfect......it rose right up to the top of bread pan. I used basic bread/medium crust setting.

This bread was great!! I didn't have wheat flour so I used all AP flour and still turned out great. I read the recipe wrong and added 1 T of instant coffee but I didn't notice anything differnt until I was rereading thru the recipe and ate half the loaf!! great bread and will try again with right measurments.

Everyone that tasted this loaf raved about it. It was gone in an hour so don’t know how it is day old. Didn’t have instant coffee next time I’ll use a cup of coffee as suggested by another poster. I’m a new be and look at the flower content 3 cups of combined flower it’s a 1 ½ lb loaf 4 cups of combined flower 2 lb loaf. I had this set on the 2 lb loaf setting only because I forgot, despite my error it came out perfect. Luck can out do skill.

I thought it was great! Very similar to the Steakhouse bread the author referred to. The whole family loved it. I have an Oster bread machine, and everything worked just fine with the default settings.

Didn't like this one. I needed to add quite a bit more flour to get the consistency right. It was too sweet and 'chocolatey' for our taste - almost like a bread you would serve as a sweet treat with tea, rather than one to have with lunch or dinner.

I have never used a Bread Machine before or even made Homeade bread from scratch. Even after reading the bad reviews, I made this bread on my first attempt. I went by rkplucker advice and put it for 1 1/2 loaf. When I kept peeking in, it did look "gooey", up until the last hour. Then it came out great! It tastes great too! I made this again for my 3rd loaf and plan on making this all the time.

This really is like steak-house bread! Mine wasn't goopy as other reviews say, it was perfect. Infact I took the bread out 10 min. early. Didn't have instant coffee, so used left over AM coffee instead of the water asked for. Also added a little extra honey for a totally sweet bread.

This recipe is the best. Warm or room temp, the bread has a great flavor and texture. It freezes well also.

This recipe was aweful. Like the other reviewers Iwill never make it again. It was gloppy, didn't rise, didn't work in the bread machine and a waste of time, money and ingredients.

I thought this bread was delicious. The batter was kinda wet and next time I will use about a tablespoon less water. The loaf sank a little in the middle but the bread was so good.

I tried this recipe, once in the bread machine, once by hand. Gloppy mess both times. Loaf in the bread machine turned out close to 3 inches long. I bake bread 3 times a week, so I know what I'm doing. Won't make this again, waste of ingredients.

This recipe didn't work at all! It doesn't say what size loaf - so I guessed in the middle at 1 1/2 lbs. It just made a big gooey mess! A complete waste of ingredients and $$.

The taste was pretty good but not what I had expected. This did not work in my bread machine so I tried it again and pulled it out after the dough mixed and baked it in a loaf pan. It's ok but not great tried it again and still doesn't work in the machine so won't be making it again. Gave it two stars for working 1 out of 3 times.
