I took this to my boyfriend's family party, and it was the first time that his mother ever asked ME for a recipe! Everyone loved these--there was a ton of stuff out for dessert and these disappeared FAST. I did make a few changes to the recipe--I used 3/4c white sugar and 3/4c brown sugar, chopped pecans instead of almonds (thats's just what I had on hand), and I used a 9x13 pan. I made sure to spread the preserves all the way to the edges like another reviewer suggested, and that worked great. I also had to add a lot of extra flour and brown sugar at the end to make the crumbly top, but in the end, this was AMAZING--and quick and easy too!
