"A thick and creamy pea soup that is quick and easy to put together. Peas soak overnight, and ham can be purchased pre-cubed at the store."
Hmm. None of these ingredients are on sale today.

dried split peas
low-sodium chicken broth
cooked ham, cut into 1-inch cubes
red onion, minced
ground black pepper
salt to taste
Quite good. I used my pressure cooker (for 10 minutes but next time I might go with 8 minutes) and I only soaked the peas for 30 minutes. The result was a smooth, creamy and rustic soup that hits the spot on a cool day. Went very well with a cheese sandwich! Thank you spinn710 for your recipe.
