I used frozen peas, frozen cauliflower, and nearly doubled the potatoes. Great recipe and it definitely is spicy!

I liked the vegetables in the recipe. I did also add carrots. I liked the flavor of the spices, but they were too strong for me. Maybe I'll try adding less next time or some yogurt?

I love this curry! I've made it twice now. It's good right away, but the next day the flavors are excellent. I altered it by using light coconut milk and going a little light on the cayenne and salt. I think as a result of using the light coconut milk, it needed a couple of teaspoons of sugar. The second time I made it, I added a diced green pepper and threw in a diced carrot with the potatoes for the last half of cooking. Easy, delicious and full of veggies -- for a lot less than at a restaurant.

If you can't find garam masala, don't worry. It is a mix of spices and you probably have some already. You can google the contents and use whatever you have. I only had cinnamon and pepper so I used them and it still came out tasting great. My husband doesn't like peas so I used carrots and it was excellent. Thank you for this recipe, I will add it to my favorites!

I feel like the seasoning in this recipe is a little unbalanced, but I can't stop eating it. I'd like to tinker with it a little, but for now, it's a great recipe as it is.

Absolutely delicious recipe! For the garam masala, I substituted: 1/2 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp paprika 1/4 tsp cinnamon 1/8 tsp cloves add a bay leaf to sauce while cooking This recipe rocks! Your family will love it.

This was wonderful! I have tried and tried to cook indian food and it never came out quite right till I tired this recipe. I used an extra potato and frozen peas instead of canned, but otherwise I followed the directions exactly! Served it over rice with some nan bread and everyone in the family loved it! This is going to be my indian staple from now on! Thanks!

Fantastic. I ended up leaving the potatoes out. My potatoes were still cooking when I added everything in and I liked how it was then.

This is really, really good. The amount of spices seem to be just right, except that I only used 1 t. of salt, and we are salt-lovers.

This was delicious, but really, really spicy. I would definitely cut way back on the spices if I made it again.

Really great hearty recipe. Check the spicyness of your curry powder before adding to the recipe. I used a hot curry powder and the recipe turned out too hot for anyone but me to eat. Next time I'll hold back on the cayenne and let the curry be the main source of heat.

Excellent!! I did use frozen peas, and I often substitute one Japanese eggplant for two potatoes. This is the closest I've come to the Indian "homecooking" my neighbors make.

This is a great base for curry. I usually add a ton more veggies(frozen peas, beans, edaname, cauliflower, sugar snap peas, etc...) and I usually reduce the amount of garam masala spice to 2 tsp., but that's just my taste preference. But an overall great recipe- I make it a lot!

This curry is a great base, but I felt that it needed more flavor. I did leave out the cayenne since my husband cant handle spice very well. Next time I will try adding more of the spices in as I make it. The only main suggestion I have is you might want to cut up the diced tomatoes into smaller pieces; I found the size a little too big and overpowering for the bites with the tomato. Overall, great curry recipe! We will definately make this again with a little more spices.

This was very, very good. Thank you so much! I took a shortcut and used 2 cans of small potatoes (diced). They saved time and effort and worked very well. I used about 2/3 can of coconut milk. I've grown accustomed to cutting coconut because my daughter doesn't like the taste to be overpowering. A keeper.
