Spicy Ranch Dressing II

"A spicy dressing that can be whipped up easily with just a few ingredients. By using a little less liquid this could be a great dip too!"

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabasco™)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a medium bowl, stir together the sour cream, buttermilk, horseradish, hot pepper sauce, and pepper. Transfer to a jar, cover, and store in the refrigerator until needed.

This wasn't too bad but was not what I expected. There was a slight buttermilk flavor but it was not Ranch.

I followed the recipe exactly, however using non-fat sour cream and powdered buttermilk mixed with water. The flavor of the dressing was a little bland. It missed that distinctive "ranch" taste, perhaps owing to my use of powdered buttermilk. Nonetheless, I think some additional seasonings would help.

To be honest, I used just store bought ranch dressing and horseradish-- it was awesome!! I didn't have all the ingredients needed but used the idea instead! It has a huge hit with my family! Thanks
