Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 bunch collard greens, rinsed and trimmed
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • ground cayenne pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add collard greens, bacon (with grease), vinegar, salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper.
  3. Boil until greens are tender, about 30 minutes.
