Cajun Shrimp

Submitted by: Donna Thomason
Donna Thomason knows how to bring a little pizzazz to her El Pas, Texas table--she stirs up a batch of these zippy shrimp. Use as much or as little cayenne pepper as you like, depending on your family's tastes. 'This is nice served alongside rice pilaf,' she suggests.

So fast and easy to prepare, these shrimp are bound to be the hit of the barbeque. And, weather not permitting, they work great under the broiler, too.

This is a very easy dish to prepare for two. After the shrimp have marinated, dinner can be on the table in minutes! It's a refreshing departure from meat, and the mixture of flavors is delicious. -Wanda Penton, Franklinton, Louisiana

Easy, elegant, spicy and only needs a salad to go with it. If needed, reduce Cajun spice to taste.

Here's a recipe that I have made several times for our family. Set your broiler and watch the shrimp closely. The shrimp is done when it turns pink. Do not overcook! Serve with baked potato and salad.

This recipe combines some of my favorite ingredients; beer, hot sauce and shrimp. Cooking with beer is always cool. Just remember not to waste that 1/4 can of beer that is left over!
