This was really good! I used fire roasted diced tomatoes and omitted the black beans and jalapeno peppers (I added some green chilies) I also skipped the dressing. I ate it with Roasted Garlic Triscuits. Yum! :)

Nice recipe but it wasn't amazing. Missing something. I followed the advice of several people and used some fresh lime juice and olive oil. Added cilantro and used Rotell tomatoes instead of plain.

This was wonderful and had great flavor. Also was great as a side dish for eggs.

I made this for my husband to take to work with him. They guys all looked at it and said that they would try it just because I made it. They don't really like bean salads or stuff like that. Well, one bite and they were hooked. I have to send the recipe to work with him now. The only thing I changed was that the store I went to didn't have the right peppers, so instead I added green chilies. A must for summer...

This salsa is great. I added 1 extra can of diced tomatoes. Be sure to use the unseasoned blackeyed peas and black beans to avoid conflicting flavors. I made my own Italian dressing using the Good Season packet but giving it a southwest twist by substituting lime juice for the water and added 2 teaspoons of cumin. I doubled the recipe so that after company leaves, we will be able to enjoy some for ourselves for a few days...just gets better as it sits in fridge.

This is simply delicious! I have even had compliments from people who don't like beans! It's so easy to make and it tastes even better the next day. I too add cilantro and lime juice. I leave out the jalepenos when making this for my husbands family since they don't like spice, and it's still wonderful.

This was beautiful looking and addicting. Unfortunately, I took it to an in-law function where they are very "meat and potato", plain food consumers and no one but my husband went near it.

This is very Yummy! I made it exactly as the recipe states! Next time, I will play around with it and try to make it spicy...this just wasn't spicy for us at all.

So yummy! I followed a couple things from other reviews and did not use the italian dressing and use, cilantro, lemon, EVOO, garlic, salt & pepper. I also used fresh tomatoes, jalepenos and frozen corn. So good! thanks for sharing!

I made this recipe exactly as shown and my husband loved it. He said it was excellent with an ice cold beer. He really liked the smoky flavor, which must have come from the seasoned black eyed peas that I used. I was not so fond of the smoky, spicy flavor. Too hot for me. This is super easy to make-so really nice when you need a last minute dip to bring to someone's house.

I have made this quite a few times now and I have made a couple of changes. I don't do jalepenos. I put in green chilies instead. Also, fresh Cilantro is great. Try using Ro-tel tomatoes instead of just plan tomatoes. We like Frito Scoops with this dip

I also left out the Italian dressing. I did not drain the dices tomatoes so that juice was plenty. i also added cumin, minced garlic, and chili powder for a little spice.

This recipe is sooo good. I did make a few changes. I added 1 can of black beans, 1 can of pinto beans (drained and rinsed), 1 can diced tomatoes with jalapenos (did not drain), 2 cloves garlic, 1-2 T fresh cilantro, corn, 4 scallions, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes for some more heat. It turned out to be a great, fat free recipe. Even my picky 13 yr old ate it up!! Great snack!! Will definately make this again!!

This was amazing. My dad always wants our family to eat black eyed peas for new years so the rest of us have to find recipes to put them in that make them tastier. I'll certainly be getting my dose this year now that I found this recipe.
