Well talk about a surprise... When I first pulled this out I was thinking it was not going to be so good. It looked dry and I feared it would not have much flavor. I tried it to check and I was very wrong, it was delicious. I made this just for my husband to take to work for lunch for a couple of days but I ended up eating it for dinner myself. It was great. I only used a three pound roast but I wouldn't reccomend the two hour forty five minute cook time even for the four pound roast. I cooked mine just a little over an hour and it turned out great, it probably could have come out even a couple minutes before that... It was good without the gravy, and it was better with it.

Tasty, I do not use the mace nor do I add cornstarch. The potatoes and carrots taste awesome. The meat was interesting and tasty but not quite as tender as I thought it would be.
