I did not care for this recipe. Too much nutmeg and sugar overpowered the flavor of the squash rather than complementing it. I also didn't care for the raisins in the squash. I much more prefer the Acorn Squash recipe on this site.

Followed recipe exactly. Had 2 big acorn squash. Came out perfect! An easy way to make squash. Next time might make a savory instead of sweet version. Will be using this again! TIP: Easy way to cut squash in half: Pierce with knife or fork. Put in microwave on high for 2 minutes. Let sit for 2 or 3 minutes. Then cut in half and scoop out seeds.

I grew up eating this. Serious comfort food for me. Sometimes, I'll change it up and use maple syrup and add in a chopped apple. It's heaven.

My husband and his family are big squash fans and I'd never attempted to make it before. I made this for Thanksgiving 2007 and he absolutely loved it. We didn't include raisins because I'm not too crazy about them but it was still wonderful. Thanks for the recipe!

The spices for this recipe were good, but I will reduce the amount of brown sugar and cinnamon in the future. I also do not like and did not have raisens so I used dried cranberries instead. Those were a great substitution.

I omitted the raisins and had to substitute 1/4 cup maple syrup and 1/4 cup unrefined sugar for the brown sugar, but these still came out simple and sweet! This squash makes a nice winter treat.
