Very good dish. I altered the recipe by adding pork sausage. Instead of tomato juice I used spicy V8 as suggested by another reviewer. I did not have all of the spices so I purchased the MCcormick mediterranean herb crusted tilapia because it was cheaper and besides, it has all of the seasoning except the chili. I used only what came in this pack and a little garlic salt. My family loved it. I served it with the sauteed green beans recipe found on this site. Thanks for the recipe. I am putting this one in rotation.

This recipe was great! My super picky 4 year old and husband loved it. I left out the green pepper and used one can of tomato soup and one can of water instead of the tomato juice.

I have been making this for years! Everyone that has tried it loves it! Can't make it enough! I do use tomatoes with chilies and extra cheese.

This was a big hit at home! I didn't change it that much just added some fresh diced chilies for a kick! Will make again.

Tops for quick and easy. I had to use 1tin of diced tomatoes, 1tin of tomato soup with 1/2 tin water to sub for the tomato juice also used pimento peppers and black pepper instead of chili. 2cups rice since I thought 3 too much. Also used ground chicken instead. All these changes were due to the fact I did not have all at hand and the chili was necessaary however didn't know I was out till to late. Also did put in some garlic with the onions. With all these changes it still came out pretty well and will make again with the correct ingredients except always will use minced chicken. I think minced soya will also do well like Yves brand.

Very easy and delicious. I made no changes and it turned out excellent! As another reviewer said, it's a bit like spanish rice or a (really) dirty rice. Very hearty.

Seemed to be a crowd pleaser. I had spicy V8 in the house, so used that in replace of the regular tomato juice it called for. Also didn't have any stewed tomatoes so I used a can of tomato paste. Also used ground turkey instead of hamburger. Was in a rush so after browning the ground turkey I put the rest of the ingredients in the pan and brought to a boil to heat. Then put in casserole dish with cheese on top and only cooked in oven for 15 min. I thought it was decent, but liked most that it was quick and easy to throw together.

I am not much of a cook, but my husband LOVED this. I used a can of tomato soup + 1 can of water in lieu of the tomato juice as I did not have tomato juice.

This was outstanding. My husband told me it was his new favorite. Even my three kids ate every bite and they are 5, 3, and 15 months. I added a jalapeno and used yellow bell pepper because that's what I had in the fridge. Very very yummy and super easy!!!!

yummy! i substituted the tomato juice for chicken stock (as i didn't have tomato juice), and it still came out nicely (but i think the tom. juice would have been better!). also, i added carrots into it also, which went really well with the beef, green peppers and cheese. it made for a great main course. or to make it vegetarian, omit the beef and double the veg. serve it with a side salad. perfect!
