Light and refreshing dish. I used half oranges and half grapefruit. I think ruby red grapefruit would have been better. Next time I think I will use a peach or apricot jelly instead of the orange marmalade to make it sweeter. With the added grapefruit, I think it took away from some of the sweetness it would have had, but I do think it was a good change with some adjustments.

I took the advice of other reviews and omitted the sugar.. and just did the other ingredients, let the oranges marinate in the mixture over night.. and brought it to a playgroup for the moms / kids the next morning. They couldnt taste any difference between this recipe and regular cut up oranges. I did omit the almonds / coconut for the toppings just b/c we didnt want the kids to have those two ingredients, so perhaps that was why, but the marinate didnt do anything to enhance the oranges this first time around.. still good oranges though.

If I could give 6 stars, I would! Every time I make this, people rave and want the recipe. I double the "marinade" so that it comes up to the top of the oranges in the bowl. Sugar is totally optional. I usually cut the segments into thirds or fourths, so it's more bite sized pieces. Serve COLD, and the word everyone uses is "refreshing"! Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe!!!

These were wonderful. It was such a simple and elegant way to serve oranges. I made them for Christmas brunch and they were a total hit.

I made this for an office breakfast and it was a huge hit. Instead of all oranges I did a mixture of oranges, grapefruit and tangerines. I love this recipe and will definitely keep making it.

This recipe is divine but I skipped the sugar. It definitely did not need it. It makes an especially refreshing cooler with Mexican, Spanish or Tex Mex buffets
