Original Recipe Yield 2 dozen cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 (1 pound 1.5 ounce) pouch Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • Betty Crocker® colored sugars

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Stir cookie mix, butter and egg in medium bowl until dough forms. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in colored sugars. Place balls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  3. Bake 11 to 14 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheet. Store in airtight container.

Footnotes

  • Variation: Go with a multicolored look--choose several bright colors of sugar for the same cookie.
  • Special Touch: Sandwich cooled cookies together with Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy vanilla ready-to-spread frosting. Yum!
