I'm not a big green bean fan but we had some fresh string beans and didn't want to sautee them so I tried this. It was delicious enough for me to get seconds. I went easy on the cloves though. Otherwise, a nice variation!

We added some vegetarian sausage to this, and everyone loved it. It's mildly sweet, with a great flavor from the cloves. I'd be happy to make it again. One warning, however: the string beans took twenty minutes to cook. I would advise steaming them instead.
