Napa cabbage has a delicate peppery taste and is wonderful in this salad. And there 's lots of crunch, almonds, sesame seeds, and crumbled Ramen noodles are tossed into the finely shredded cabbage and dressed with a balsamic vinegar/soy sauce dressing. Makes six generous servings.

Tired of only finding napa cabbage recipes that use Asian seasonings and fried ramen noodles? This salad has a fresh zippy flavor and makes a nice accompaniment to baked fish or roasted chicken. Note: Pistachio oil is pricey and can be hard to find, so feel free to substitute walnut, hazelnut, or olive oil.

A sweet and sour dressing is the perfect thing for this very Asian cabbage salad. It mates perfectly with the crunchy ramen noodles, almonds and sesame seeds. Makes six servings.

Kimchi, a popular Korean dish, is best described as a spicy, slightly sweet, pickled or fermented cabbage. I spent a year in South Korea and fell in LOVE with Kimchi! My friend Myong was kind enough to share her recipe and technique with me. Some ingredients may not be readily available in your local supermarket. Look for Kimchi (Fish) Sauce and Korean chili powder in Asian markets or online. Use kimchi in stir fries or your favorite Korean dishes.
