These were easy to make. I really do like them, but to me they taste best when hot. They're still very yummy when cooled, and my family loves them, but they've never had them fresh out of the oven like I have lol. I don't think I'll let them try, either! I love the subtle sweetness and the density. I made mine to look more like biscuits, though, by using probably a bit too much dough for each cookie-cake. I think it gives it a more rustic-looking quality. They're wonderful with a little bit of preserves, too!

This is the recipe I have been looking for! Taste and texture were exactly like I remember, so delicious! I didn't have self rising flour, so I added 1.5 tsp baking powder and a pinch of salt for each cup of AP flour.
