Yes, yes! Oh yes! This potato salad will most likely knock your socks off. After Retired Cook said has made this for over 50 years, I decided to adopt the tips, adding 1 tbsp cider vinegar; 1 tbsp sugar. I used six eggs instead of four because I like them, using the last two eggs to garnich the top of the salad with along with a sprinkling of Paprika. I'm not a sweet relish fan and didn't have any on hand, so I subbed out a 1/4 cup relish with 1/4 c diced pickles and 1/4 c diced onion, giving the salad a more crunchy texture, which is what I was aiming for. I also added a diced fresh jalapino in the mix for spice. One of the keys to this could be getting the proper amount of potatoes mixed in with the rest of the mixture so there is a nice even covering. Thank you!

Tasty. I also added a Tablespoon of sugar and a little dill. It would be bland without this. But I'll definitely keep the recipe. My picky 7-year-old liked it a lot.

Great after some alterations. I used 1/2 tsp celery seed instead of celery (my family doesn't like celery), instead of all mayo I used half mayo half sour cream, instead of the minced garlic I used garlic salt (about 1 tsp) and I added black olives. It turned out perfect!!!!!

This potato salad is great, but i left out the celery and replaced it with green onions. I don't like anything crunchy in my p. salad. I also added paprika on top because it makes it look pretty. Over all, I will definite use it again. I've always liked p. salad but never made my own, until now.

My husband is from the south and I made this potato salad for him. He won't eat it cold, I had never had it warm. It is delish! I halved the recipe since there is only 2 of us at home and now it is the only potato salad I make

I've been making a similar version of this salad the last few years. Since I don't like hard boiled eggs I don't use them. In their place I use crumbed bacon and fresh herbs. Personally, my family doesn't like warm potato sald cause we always eat in the summer time with bbq. I like to make it a day ahead of time for the flavors to blend.

This is a new favorite! First time making homemade potato salad, and it was a delicious change from the usual deli kind. I followed as is and thought it was much too dry, however, so I added about another half recipe of just the dressing and it is EXCELLENT. I will make this over and over!

This is good (with minor adjustments). I omitted the garlic (we don't like it raw) and added a little sugar and vinegar. Also added a few extra eggs and it was just like we like it in the South. Slightly sweet and tangy. Will make again. Thanks!

This was okay, but I doubt I'll make it again. I tried this recipe when I was unable to find my beloved no-fail recipe. I served it chilled, as folks in my neck of the woods would never dream of eating warm potato salad. I added a little vinegar and sugar and I thought it tasted great. My husband even commented that it had a little "zip" to it. So, we were surprised that it seemed to lose a great deal of flavor overnight. I totally forgot to add extra salt. Take it from me - it's not good to forget the salt. It was a little bland because I forgot the salt, but that's my fault. I still gave it four stars because it's a good place to start. With a little experimentation, it can be adapted to appeal to individual tastes.

If you like relish and celery, this is probably the recipe for you. I don't, so I shouldn't have picked this recipe. My memory of every potato salad I have liked had a little relish in it, so I thought I was on the right track, especially with all the great reviews of this recipe. I think this is too much, though. Also, maybe hold off on the mustard a bit. The garlic is a nice touch. But I think I'll keep looking for the right recipe for me.

Loved it! Took this to a BBQ and everyone raved about how great it was. Only thing I did was do the recipe for 9 - I added about 3/4c more mayo and didn't have any celery on hand. Will make again!

My recipe changes were: ADD BACON! Cook bacon to a crisp and add it in to substitute the salt. It's a great addition. I'm also not fond of sweet relish, so I substituted with dell relish and added garlic powder instead of a whole minced garlic. It's a little less obtrusive.

I love potato salad, but I don’t like eggs. After searching grocery stores for potato salad with no eggs, I finally decided to make my own. I followed the recipe exactly except I didn’t add any eggs and it still came out great. I will definitely make this again!
