I didn't have any problems with this recipe. I followed the directions exactly except I added 1 tsp pure two-fold vanilla and let the dough freeze overnight. The cookies came out perfect, and were tasty too! Iced cookies with a simple Royal Icing made from 2 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar, 2 egg whites, and 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract (I didn't have any lemon juice). Mix all ingredients with an electric mixer until light, fluffy, and slightly stiff. A little bit of this icing goes a long way, so don't skimp on the various colors!
