perfect! fantastic on a white cake and on cupcakes. We made it with powdered sugar the first time and it was grainy. Make sure you use confectioner's sugar, the finest you can find, or just sift it and add gradaully. This is now the household favorite chocolate frosting! Thanks for the recipe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easy, spreadable, good. A little too sweet for my taste, but all in all, a good one!

I thought this frosting was delicious. I gave it a 4 because my husband thought it was way to sweet. It was rich, but I love that. Thanks!

Great recipe, but if you add the suggested amount of sugar, I think it starts to lose some of the "uniquness" that the sour cream adds, and it starts to taste more like the usual sugar/milk/butter frosting. I added less than a cup of sugar and it was pretty good.

very good! i didn't bother measuring the powdered sugar, but i'm pretty sure i didn't even use a cup of it. My mixer broke so i had to do this by hand with a wooden spoon and the frosting still turned out wonderfully!

Absolutely delicious! Since I was out of icing sugar, I ground up plain white sugar in my coffee grinder and the result was delicious confectioner's-type sugar with a coffee taste. The frosting was tangy and sweet and mocha-flavored. I'll definitely be making this again!

I love this recipe with the following adjustements -- it's not too sweet and not too fattening! Used 70% chocolate, added 2 tbsp dutch process cocoa after chocolate and butter were melted. Reduced sugar to 2 cups. I made 1.5 recipes for a 3 layer 8" round cake.

This was really good. I love the tang of the sour cream. Make sure to use unsalted butter. I thought this tasted even better the next day.

Excellent!!! This recipe is no fail and tastes good with anything. Very fugdy but not too sweet. I've even used it to make chocolate covered strawberries. I drop 3/4 c. confectioner's sugar and it's perfect.

I thought this frosting had a DELICIOUS flavor! It did get a little thick, but that was easily fixed. I did not use as much sugar as called for. I'm using the frosting for chocolate cupcakes, topped with Andes mint baking bits. I love the sweet chocolately flavor. THANK YOU

I made it to frost a chocolate swirl cake for my son's third birthday. It was a huge hit! It's very rich, and makes the cake go further than an odinary frosting. I got rave reviews from everyone there! Thanks for the great recipe.
