This tried-and-true recipe is from my grandmother's collection, and it remains my favorite today. This cake tastes wonderful--the apple filling keeps it moist, and the crispy crunch of its nut mixture makes it seem forever fresh. Apple Cream Coffee Cake is always on my menu for brunch, and good for snacking at any time of day!

I MAKE 'apple everything' in fall when the new crop is in, and I was happy to add this delicious recipe to my apple dishes. A lady at church shared it with me. Sometimes I'll top the squares with a cream cheese frosting, especially if I'm having company. -Leona Pecoraro, Ravenden, Arkansas

My mother used to bake these mouth-watering cookies for an after-school treat. Though it's been 55 years since I first found out about them, I still savor the smell that fills the house as these cookies bake. They stay moist and fresh for a long time, or the dough can be stored in the refrigerator for several days so you can bake as you need them.

This recipe was given to me nearly 50 years ago, at a company picnic, and it's our family's favorite dessert. Now my grandchildren bake it for their families. When each of our three sons got serious about a girl, sure enough, I'd get a call from a young lady requesting 'his favorite dish'. I always gave the girls this recipe.
