Diced apples are stirred into a mixture of sour cream, nutmeg, sugar, flour and egg. This chunky filling is then poured into a prepared crust and baked. While still warm, it 's topped with a crumble made of cinnamon, sugar and butter, and then it 's baked until the topping is melted and glazed over the pie. Cool and serve this luscious pie with vanilla ice cream.

Caramel and apples are happily married in this fabulous pie. The sliced apples are first coated with sweetened cream cheese and then with a brown sugar and spice mixture. The apples are then arranged in a pie shell with a layer of caramel in between, and topped with a second crust. It bakes beautifully.

First you make a traditional apple pie filling, and then things get more interesting. Half the apple mixture is spooned into a deep-dish pie shell and layered with caramels and a taffy mixture. And then more apples, caramels and taffy go in. And then it 's baked and served warm.

Topped with sweetly seasoned pecans, this recipe is an apple pie lover's dream. My mother taught me to bake when I was young, and I've been heating up ovens with pies, cakes and cookies ever since.

This easy-to-do recipe reminds us that apples need very little help to make a memorable pie. Apples are simply layered in the pie pan, with each layer sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Then they are topped with a crust and dabs of butter. And in less than an hour, this classic pie bakes to perfection.
