Perfect cookie. Soft with a buttery and sweet flavor. I made these for treats for my daughter's softball game with some butter cream icing. They were a hit. I measured out 1/4 C. cookies dough and baked about 25-30 minutes per batch. This has become my new default sugar cookie recipe.

These are amazing! Thick and soft, they are great with butter cream frosting. I used salted butter so I only added a pinch of salt to the dough, otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. I baked them for 10 min and half way through I turned the trays around and put the top one on the bottom and the bottom one on the top rack for even baking. This ones a keeper.

Great cookie! Super easy! I followed other advice and made sure the butter was room temperature (real butter - unsalted) so it whips up nicely. I followed the recipe exactly, split the dough in half and mixed in 1 tsp. of culinary lavender for half the batch because I'd been curious about lavender cookies...either way they were great.

This recipe is fantastic.Being simple and easy to prepare.Half of the first batch out of the oven was gone before the second one came out. I read other reviews and decided what I wanted. I used 2/3 cup butter instead of margarine which gave them the buttery taste we love. I also did 1 1/2 tsp of vanilla. I creamed the shortening, butter and sugar until really very ligt and fluffy. These are excellent and this is a winner and keep in our books.

Very good sugar cookies. Easy to make. I will be making these again. I made no changes. Next time I may add more vanilla, I love the flavor of vanilla.

I tried a batch of these cookies over the weekend. They were being swallowed right from the cookie sheet. Most of the 1st batch never made it to the cooling rack. They were a big hit. Definitly making these again. Very much recommed this for anyone looking for an easy soft cookie recipe.

These were good. I made half of the recipe and still came out with 20+ cookies that were a good size. I had to bake mine about 14 min and still weren't brown on bottom. I also would suggest spraying your pan with a non-stick spray. I thought there was a bit too much salt, will reduce next time. These don't spread much, you can place them fairly close.

Great Recipe! Im baking the 2nd batch now. Very soft and very easy and cheap to make. Will make again, and again. Almost forgot to add: I only had 1 tsp. of vanilla extract instead of two and still came out Great! Thank You!

Delicious! You have to try this recipe for yourself to believe how great they are. I followed the recipe to the T and they came out perfect. So perfect in fact that I had to hide some from my family just to get to enjoy them too! Thanks for a fab recipe, I'll be coming back to this one again and again.

Overall, these cookies were amazing! I'm not usually a cookie fan, but I and everyone else loved them! My only "complaint" about these cookies was that the recipe made 32 cookies instead of 24 (well, 33 but don't tell anyone). They would probably be good with ~3/4 cup of chopped pecans mixed into the batter.

I'd been debating over a few sugar cookie recipes and chose these because I saw pictures of some that were used with cutters. Tried and it and absolutely loved it. Was very quick and easy to put together and didn't require too long to be chilled to roll out. Will make these again and again.
