Really dissapointing. The cookies burn from the bottom, really , really, easily.

Probably the best choco-chip cookies I have made yet! They turned out just great, and yes, I *did* double the recipe! I really don't see why doubling the recipe would make your cookies not soft...mine were perfectly soft! Anyway friends and family couldn't get enough of these, even the realtor took some home! Tip - Take cookies out of the oven when you notice the edges start turning the slightest tinge of brown...the cookies may look undone, but if you stick a knife in the centre you will see they are!

This is a great basic chocolate chip recipe you can't go wrong with. They stay soft the next day, too! Follow the instructions exactly, especially the part about pulling them out of the oven before they are golden brown. If you let them finish on the baking sheet they will stay soft. Thanks!!

I made them and gave half to my friends. My husband and I thought they were perfect. Our friends thought they were store bought for some reason. They loved them so much that they're gonna start making them.

I don't know if I did something wrong with this recipe, but they were not chewy. But my kids loved them nonetheless, they said they are better than storebought cookies. And for making them from scratch, it didn't take that much time at all.

I do a lot of baking - this one was ok but it didn't have much flavor. I took them to work and not one person asked for the recipe or commented that they liked them (I normally get lots of feedback from my co-workers when they like something I've brought in). I agree with one of the other reviews that the Toll House recipe has more flavor. I doubt I'll make this recipe again.

These were good cookies but the dough is too soft almost to work with. My husband and the kids loved them, but they weren't my favorite. They taste more like a regular sugar cookie with chips added. I was looking for more of a traditional taste. I also didn't like that they burn on the bottom very, very, very easily assuming it was from the dough being so mushy.

I just made these with my 2 year old and they were absolutely AMAZING!! I changed a few things. I added 1/2 teaspoon salt and used all butter, no shortening. I also made it in a 9x13 pan. Perfect, not too sweet so soft and crispy on the edges. I will make this again as a birthday "cake" for my husband since we don't really like regular cake with frosting.

This recipe is excellent. For an organic alternative to this recipe. I used Organic Ghee instead of shortening and I substituted xylitol for the white sugar, organic brown sugar, organic flour, organic vanilla extract, organic semi-sweet chocolate chips from Whole Foods Supermarket. The cookies stayed soft and looked great. I make this recipe and I look like a genius - thanks!

These are the best cookies I have ever had. Seriously. I followed the recipe to a 'T' and added semi-sweet and white chocolate chips and chopped walnuts at the end. Keep your eye on them in the oven as they don't take long - just until the edges turn slightly golden.

I made this recipe exactly as stated except I did double it...no problems with the cookies not being soft at all! I baked them for about 12 minutes, removing them JUST as they were beginning to brown per other reviewers. They are delicious however, next time I make them I will either use all butter or use butter flavored Crisco in place of the regular shortening. GREAT cookies, I have a feeling that the SIX DOZEN cookies I just made won't last long!
