Ingredients

  • 4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration

Directions

  1. Melt chocolate squares and cooking oil in a saucepan.
  2. Let cool and pour into mixing bowl. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla, mixing until well blended.
  3. Sift dry ingredients together and gradually add to chocolate/egg mixture, stirring well.
  4. Stir in nuts, cover and place in refrigerator overnight.
  5. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and grease cookie sheets.
  6. Shape dough into small balls, about an inch in diameter. Roll in powdered sugar and place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheet .
  7. Bake for 8 minutes.
