Snowflake Cookies

"This is my mom's Christmas cookie recipe that the kids and I have made for years. Great fun to make and decorate."

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream the shortening with the sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well. Sift the flour and salt into the creamed mixture and stir in gradually. Chill dough for at least one hour.
  3. Roll the chilled dough out to 1/8 inch thick and cut into desired shapes. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet for 6 to 8 minutes. Allow cookies to cool before decorating.

I don't rate it unless it's five stars and this IS five stars! This is sugar cookie and so easy to make no tweaking required! This is my first time making these and I love that it is so esay to make and sooo delicious and yummy!! Ingredients are just right!!

it was alrite, added peanutbutter cause i wanted to.... tasted pretty good... a tad too sugary, but alrite.
