These were fantastic cookies! I had to tweak the recipe a little, because I don't have any cream of tartar and I was short one egg. Even with the substitutions, they came out perfect.

I am, for a lack of a better word, a complete noob at baking. I usually mess something up somehow, and feel like blaming the recipes for my mistakes. BUT - this time I followed your recipe to every word, and I just made the most perfect cookies ever. My family was astounded that I could bake such a thing. Thank you for sharing this lovely recipe! :)

Good cookies. A little sweet/ too much sugar. I would make them again.

My husband LOVED these cookies !!!!!. The only "tweaking" I did on the recipe was to cut the sugar to 1 cup because he likes to have something a little less sweet with his coffee. The dough was easy to work with and the cookie consistency was perfect!!!!!

I just made a half batch of these and my boyfriend ate about 3 before he told me that I should sell them. I felt flattered but feel the need to share his compliments with the author. Thanks!!

I have never had any Snickerdoodles before, but these were wonderful! I thought they were best right out of the oven. They're my boyfriend's favorite kind of cookie, and he loved them. I also took the added note from a member of sticking a piece of bread in a zip lock bag to keep the cookies fresh, and it really did help. They lasted a long time. This does make a big batch though, so make sure there is somewhere for them to go :)

I make these ALL THE TIME and they always come out perfect. I'm not a fan of shortening, so use unsalted butter instead, and only bake with whole wheat flour. These come out perfect every single time, and I've had tons of people tell me they are the best Snickerdoodles they have ever had. This is my go to recipe.

Turned out so amazingly perfect looking and tasting I still can't believe it. My husband likes very few sweets that weren't made exactly!-exactly!-exactly! the way his grandmother makes them, but with these he kept coming back for "one more." I added 1 t. ground cinnamon to the flour mixture and 1 t. vanilla extract to the sugar mixture, but I don't believe either were necessary.

Hey, LKUEHL These are the same exact snickerdoodles my mom and now my sisters and I have been making since we were little. They are the BEST! One reviewer was right, if they come out hard and crunchy, you overbaked them.
