This is really good. I have made two batches now, the only thing I do differently is, is I make the tea as a sun tea and then just do a simple syrup with the sugar, a little water, and the baking soda. My kids love this.

I will never buy sweet tea again from the store when it's super easy to make and tastes better! The best part of this is that i can give my kids sweet without the high fructose corn syrup!

Not particularly caring for this recipe. It's a bit inefficient whn one can just leave tea bags in a gallon of water in the sun for 45 mins, add sugar, lemon and ice.

I have drank tea all of my life and this is by far the smoothest tea I have ever consumed. So very refreshing on a hot summer afternoon.

This tea is amazing, and is satisfying to southerners and non-southerners alike! Not too sweet, but sweet enough that you know it's sweet tea. The baking soda really keeps it from having a bite. I triple or quadruple the recipe to make it for a large group.

This was SO GOOD! I made the recipe as-is, only I doubled it. Brought it to a picnic and everyone drank it up--fast!

Awesome tea! I was skeptical on the baking soda but it really takes any bitterness away. Adjust sugar to suit taste, as written not as sweet as the tea I am used to.

Not being a tea drinker, I let my tea drinking crowd rate this one! Great reviews from them! They downed it during planting season and skipped the pop! Good for them.

I'm from the south and thought I knew how to make a great glass of tea and did not know why you would need a recipe it make tea. However, after trying this I'm must admit I'm a fan. This is how I will make my tea from now on. Something about the baking powder make all the difference.

Most fun I have ever had with a recipe. As Ya'll can see I am a Yankee and as such have never made sweet tea before. I have a new found friend from the South and he was talking about sweet tea. So I thought I would whip up a batch! This recipe had 5 stars so why not try it. I have now made it with Luzianne Tea bags and 2 cups of splenda for baking and Lipton tea bags and 1 cup sugar and 1 cup splenda for baking, both were WAY too sweet for this Yankee, but my Southern Friend prefers the Luzianne Tea and the splenda for baking try (the sweeter of the two) the best........so far. The rest of my friends from below the Mason Dixon are just laughing at me for having to look up a recipe!!! Thanks for all the cooks out there who make this web site one of the BEST!!! Now am I ready to move on to chicken fried steak???? :-) keep cooking Ya'all

This recipe is easy to follow and the tea is delicious! I took a jug of it a BBQ and it was the favorite drink there. I used 6 western family tea bags. Some may think it's too sweet, but compared to other sweet teas I've tried it's perfect. The flavor of the tea still shines through well.

The baking soda really does make a difference! I might decrease the sugar next time, but that's just a personal preference. It's delicious and refreshing nonetheless.

This is really good sweet tea. I only had family size tea bags so I used 2 and that was perfect. I used a little less sugar by personal preference. My only wonder is what exactly the baking soda does for it.I guess I need to try it without the baking soda to see if I can taste a difference! It was great though!
