This was my first time to make cut-out sugar cookies, and I was nervous. The recipe could not have been easier and the taste is exactly what I was looking for in a cookie. Now, I just need to work on my cookie decorating skills.

YUM! THE best sugar cookie recipe I have ever tried. Perfectly sweet with a subtle salty-buttery finish. A KEEPAH!

Everytime I've made it it has turned out great! It's going to be my go-to sugar cookie recipe. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it and the cookies cut out very well.

Great recipe for sugar cookies! They also freeze well. The icing turns out perfect.

I have been using this recipe for years now. It is the best sugar cookie recipe I have ever made. I find the dough exceptionally easy to work with - it never sticks and I get awesome results every time. Like some of the other reviewers mentioned, the cookie is kind of plain by itself. But after frosting, it is the best sugar cookie you will ever have. I only use almond extract in the frosting - the hint of almond puts it over the top.

For me, these turned out very bland. They were also very dry and hard.

had to add more milk to dough, it was too dry. the frosting recipe needed more milk too. when all was done, the cookies were a little bland and dry still and the frosting was lacking. i'll give the cookies another shot, but with a different frosting recipe.

These cookies were absolutely wonderful for my children! We had a blast making them for playgroup and eating a couple on the way there. I used orange extract in the DOUGH (not the frosting) though, because in the past, that has always proved to taste better in sugar cookies then vanilla. Also, be careful, these cookies get crispy quickly, so be sure not to overbake them. Thank you!!
